2022 PHD challenge!

I love participating in Gail's UFO Challenge each year.  I get so much done and reduce my new starts when I participate.  This challenge really makes me think twice before starting something new because you have to finish it within the year.  If I stay on track this year, I should be able to finish all UFOs but one by December, 2022.

My list is below.  I only have 7 UFOs to finish, so I won't be able to do 12.  The 8th one does not count as it is a leader ender project and would be impossible to finish this year along with the other 7. It is Omigosh which lives up to its name. Several on my list are pretty big projects that require several months to complete.

I always leave space to add new projects, but really hope I don't start any.  Here is a link to her linky party.  Come check us out and join if you want.

The Patchwork Quilting UFO Challenge is also a big motivator for me.  It is super fun to see what number will pop up each month to tell us which quilt to work on.  Here is my goal list.

Here is the state each quilt is in Dec 31st and their progress throughout the year:

#1 Sand Dollar - Goal is a complete finish.

In January I made 22 more blocks and trued them up nicely.

#2 Color My World - Goal is a top done

#3 Color My World - Quilt and bind it

#4 Make 5 Disney Princess Blocks - Elsa, Anna, Snow White, Merida,  & Cinderella

#6 Princess Castle - Piece the castle, finish the top, quilt and bind

#5 Christmas - Goal is a top done and also to finish my bridge block in my barn quilt.
#7  Christmas - Quilt and bind

Obviously I had to make the top before I can quilt and bind it, so numbers 5 and 7 will have to switch places.  #7 came up for February which means I am working on the top that month.

# 8 Windmill - Get the top done
#9 Windmill - Quilt and bind

#11 Quilted Barns - Top Done
This is a biggie.  I really don't think it can be finished in one month with all of the creative design I need to do to finish it.  I hope to get ahead some months to work on this a little throughout the year.

I could easily finish up this barn quilt with a border and call it; however, I have this bridge block that I intended to add to the top right.  Adding it requires another column of something on the right side.  I just have to put the bridge in because it is fashioned after a bridge in a town near where I grew up.  That bridge has since been removed.  It has special meaning to me.

#10 Masterpiece - Quilt & Bind
#12 MasterpieceGoal is 42 triangle blocks.  I actually finished the entire top complete with border the first week of February.  I honestly thought it would take all year making a few blocks each month.

Omigosh - this one is not part of my Patchwork UFO Challenge

I have no intention of finishing this one this year.  I will do it as a leader/ender.  The reason why is I have only made 11 blocks.  There are 221 of these tiny 4 1/2" finished blocks in the quilt.  My other projects are too time intensive to add this one to the finish list this year.  It will be fun to see my progress though.

One lonely little shoe fly blocks sits among the other 10 nine patch blocks.
