January One Monthly Goal is #7!

I love love love participating in all of blogland's goal setting linkies.  This month Judy at Patchwork Times has drawn the number 7 for me to work on.  I was so excited to look at my list and see that I need to quilt my mother's Quilter's Garden.  I am so thrilled because this is one of two finishes that didn't get done last year.  Yay!  It is already basted and ready to stitch.  That makes it even more exciting!  The binding is even prepared.

Along with my One Monthly Goal, I always list other goals for the month.  I have been so excited for January to arrive so I can begin my "Create Your Own BOM!"  I made a list of quilts I wanted to work on a little each month.  I am motivated by a variety of projects and get bored with just one.  I certainly will not get bored this year!  I am doing all but one of those BOM's with a friend which also motivates me.

I am hosting a twice a month linky party for anyone who wants to show their BOM goal for the month and progress at the end.  You can check it out at the link above.  It closes on January 15th, but you can join any time you like throughout the year.

Here is my BOM goal list:

Finish Disney's Ariel.  You can see one eye and her lips.

One New York Beauty Block a week.

Embroider this Gingerbread House that has been colored.

Sew one barnyard animal - probably the goats

One Feathered Goose Block

One Alaska Block

Deana: Ric Rac for Val's Tuesday Archives

Over at Val's Quilting Studio is a wonderful linky party on Tuesdays.  Today's topic is Ric Rac.  Well, I used ric rac on the eves of my little quilt shop block.  I swapped this block with another lady so it is not in my quilt, but some other blocks in my quilt have it as well.

This block is in my Quilter's Garden Quilt.  I need to get this one quilted up soon.
The pattern can be found in my Craftsy Shop.  Each row is sold separate.

Thanks Val, for choosing a topic I can play with this week.

Ann: Quilters Garden Top Complete

It seems like a long time since I have posted. I have completed my Quilters Garden top, minus the mini quilts and other embellishments that can't be added until the top is quilted.

This is close-up detail of my last row, Quilts on the Line
There are birds flying above the clothesline, as well as flowers at the base of the clothesline poles. I keep thinking the birds are stray pieces of thread.
The birdhouse and bird on the fence were really fun to make, as well as the flowers under the fence.
I had a hard time getting a good picture of the rows
so I broke it down into sections.
I wondered how I would like the different sizes of blocks when I put it together, but I love it.
And the complete top with the borders added.
This has been such a fun project. Thank you Deana.

Deana: Finished!

While I had intended to make a queen sized quilt, I ended up with a smaller one.  Here is Quilter's Garden with the top done minus a white strip to the top and bottom.

I did not like the way it looked with the border next to the Rotaries in Bloom row, so I picked a couple of seams apart and rearranged yet again.

You can purchase the patterns, each row sold separately, in my Craftsy shop at these links.

Row 1:  Good Vibrations (sewing machines)
Row 2:  Rotaries in Bloom
Row 3:  Steam that Seam (irons)
Row 4:  Pinwheel Flowers
Row 5:  Quilt Shop Lane
Row 6:  Pin Cushions
Row 7:  Quilts in the Garden (quilts on the line) with the border and quilt assembly.

Deana: Flowers and Lines on

I got the lines and flowers on.  I think these embellishments really complete the row.  I should have the borders on this afternoon and a top done - yay!

The next two photos show that I put ties on the quilts.  I used embroidery floss.

The pattern can be purchased in my Craftsy shop.  Each row is sold separately.  The links are below:

Row 1:  Good Good Vibrations (sewing machines)
Row 2:  Rotaries in Bloom (rotary flowers)
Row 3:  Steam that Seam (irons)
Row 4:  Pinwheel Flowers
Row 5:  Quilt Shop Lane (quilt shops)
Row 6:  Pin Cushions
Row 7:  Quilts in the Garden (clothes line row).  This also includes the final pattern for the border and quilt assembly.

Quilts in the Garden blocks complete

I have finished my March blocks for the DOD Mystery quilt. These were fun and easy, but did take some time to make the mini quilts and applique the trees and clothesline posts. I have not finished the clotheslines on the trees, as they will need to be joined to the next blocks. I have one more mini quilt to finish, too. None of the mini quilts are attached, as I will do that after the quilting has been done.

 This one I will swap

Deana: February Finish!

I am so excited to say that Jessi's Medallion is FINISHED!  It is ready to give to Jessi, my daughter, for her wedding the end of May.  I quilted it more simple than I do most quilts because I thought it didn't need it.  The piecing speaks for itself.

I hope to get better photos tomorrow in better lighting.

The pattern can be found in my Craftsy shop.  It is split into two parts sold separately because the file was too large to keep together.
Part II

Jessi's Medallion was one of my 1st Quarter goals for the 2015 Finish Along.  Take this link back to that post for clarification.

I also finished the last row in the Quilter's Garden row mystery.  I am calling it, "Quilts in the Garden".  The pattern will release to the swap group members tomorrow and will become available for purchase to every one else after a few group members have tested the pattern for accuracy.  Watch for it around the middle of March.  The other row patterns in this quilt are available in my Craftsy shop.  The rows patterns are each sold separately and are numbered.

The lines have not been embroidered yet.

I still need to make two more sewing machines and join blocks together into rows.

Deana: Quilter's Garden February revealed

The February mystery block for the Quilter's Garden will be pincushions.  You can see them under the Rotaries in Bloom row.

The pins are machine stitched or hand embroidered with beads on the ends.  They look very real.
