Deana: Another one quilted this year!

I am so in love with this quilt that I think I am going to gradually cut  the pieces to make it from leftovers until I have enough to make one.  This quilt was part of a family round robin a couple years back and belongs to my sister-in-law Felicity.  We each sewed a few rows together and then added it to the main quilt so when it returned to her it was complete.  I truly miss those family round robin days!

Merry Christmas from my home to yours!  Yes, that is a live tree which is our tradition.  I think it is a beauty!  There are 11 stockings under my tree this year because my famiy is growing.  My husband and I, two daughters with husbands and babies, my parents are coming, and one stocking  belongs to my son who will spend his Christmas in Germany serving a church mission.  Oh how I eagerly await his return in July.

I laid my new Christmas present quilt on a bed in the house.  It looks great there!  This room is my happy place!  It is where I baste my quilts to prep them for quilting.

Deana: I have been piecing and machine quilting.

I have another top well on its way to finished.  I want it finished this year, so I have been sewing on it a little each day.  All it needs now is a pieced border and a final white border.  

The pieced border units are done; I just need to assemble them.

Last week was our Priceless Quilter's Christmas dinner and quilt exchange.  It is a tradition we have been doing for about 14 years.  I love these women so much!  There are only 6 of us.  Four of them still sew together once a week and then Deb and I sew once a week.  We don't all sew together because Deb and I work and the others don't.  Sewing during the day works for them and sewing at night works for us. Besides that, Deb and I live in a different county than the others.

Here are the quilts we gave each other this year.  We have a rotation on who gives to who each year.  It is so much fun!

This is the one I gave.  My followers have already seen it.

I am also nearly 2/3 done with a quilt I am machine quilting.  I want it done this weekend before family comes if at all possible.  We will see what today brings.  I also need to clean house and bake goodies for neighbors.  Yes, it should be a full couple of days!

Quilt done!

My one monthly goal is done and so is another quilt  on my list.  This one is all ready to give away to a friend for Christmas.  A group of my quilting friends have a Christmas dinner together every year where we draw names and make a small quilt for whosever name we draw.   It is so much fun!

Fun Quilter's Luncheon

Today was the "Grand Reveal" of what we did with the fat quarters I gave my friends for Christmas.  We all started with the same fabrics and ended up with beautiful projects.

Deb did a Bargello.

Faye did a Buggy Barn.

Lorna, my mother-in-law, did a Missouri Star Quilt Company star block.

Mariella made a table runner.

Theresa did this beautiful courthouse steps quilt.

She took a photo outside where we had our luncheon.  Notice the beautiful quilting!

You have probably all seen what I did with the fabric.  It still needs borders finished and quilted.

Linda didn't get a quilt made.  She is the most giving person in this entire world and probably did so much for everyone else that she didn't have time to do for herself.  She is my idol!

We call ourselves the "Priceless Quilters"  because our friendship is priceless and most of them live in a town called "Price".  We have sewn together and gone to quilt shows and classes for many many years.  Others have been a part of us but these are the ones that have really stayed together.  I don't get to sew with them monthly anymore because I work full time but I still join in on our Christmas quilt gift swap.

On our way home we stopped at Lorna's to see all her finishes for this year.  I guess she gave us a little trunk show that I will share with you.  By the way, she is my sweet sweet mother-in-law who is responsible for teaching me to quilt.  I love her so so so much!

Her Dear Jane is all quilted and ready to bind.  The quilting in her border is SPECTACULAR!  I should have my top done this year as well.  This was a project we all did together, and we all have ours in various stages.

I am SO IN LOVE with this peacock machine embroidery quilt!

The one below is a hand applique' Hawaiian Quilt.

The quilt below might not look like muh but if you could see it up close you would drool!  I just love the machine embroidery on the seam lines.

She has really gone to town on her 2017 finishes!  I am so proud of her!

Deana: a Christmas gift, top done

I make a small quilt every year to give as a gift to one of my quilt friends.  I, in return, receive a quilt gift from them.  I got the top done and am getting ready to quilt it.

Deana: Priceless Quilters annual Christmas party and quilt exchange!

Another year has passed and I have some goodies to show from my quilter's group annual exchange party.  Oh how I love these women.  They inspire me to do good and make me happy!
I quilted this one for Deb, but I did not piece it.  School, my two daughters' weddings this year, and some close family funerals made getting things done this year challenging.  Theresa pieced the top for me and I quilted and bound it.  Deb loves 30s.

Fae made this for me!  Oh how I love red and snowman!  The hand embroidery and machine quilting is to die for!

 Mariella made the wreath for Linda.

Linda made this wool applique for Theresa.  The pieces are very tiny.

Theresa made this log cabin quilt for Mariella.

I also received the rest of my Block Lotto blocks in the mail. 

 Thank you ladies!  My quilt is going to be gorgeous!!  I have now received all 48 blocks.
