Chookshed Challenge 2026

Welcome back to year 3 of the Chookshed Challenge. Our new badge is ready, and I will post the number for January around 7 tonight Mountain Standard Time.

Anyone can join. The rules are completely loosely interpreted and flexible. Rearrange numbers throughout the year to meet your needs.  The idea is to enjoy progress toward your own goals with a great community of friendly support.

It starts with a numbered list of personal sewing/stitching goals. Some like to add other related goals such as decluttering. Some like general goals like "start something new" while others are very specific. Goals do not have to be finishes. It is ok to just "make progress". A number will be drawn each month and posted here to indicate which goal to focus on that month. Make your goals big or small to meet your needs.

The challenge goes from January through October 2026.

Here is my numbered list.  After visiting on zoom today with the Chookshed Stitchers, I may change the numbers around to match similar projects or goals with other friends. Sewing is more fun with friends even if they are all around the world.

1. Aurora Progress - king size. Needs more blocks, but they are large.

2. Make a bag

I have one nearly done I can finish, but I also want to make 3 more for my grand daughters for Christmas.

3. Country Rose top plus Halo progress

Country Rose is a sampler. I just want to finish the top. The blocks are done.

These are identical blocks in different colors.

Halo is all cut. It is curved piecing.

4. Life's Little Stars progress

I have not started this one yet, but I am excited to.

5. Quilt coat progress

I want to make a quilt coat from this jelly roll I won.

This is my idea.

I am also in love with this one and hope to do something similar some day. Love the sleeve.

I just found these photos online.

6. Disney Princess Stitching

7. Disney Princess Progress

They need eye lashes and little details stitched.

8. Omigish Progress

This was a leader ender that got skipped over. They are 4.5 inch blicks.

9. Shimmer Quilt Progress

I have not started this but have fabric selected. I took a class last year and am excited to get started on it.

10. Starr Tea party

I want to maybe do it with wool applique.  I have been wanting to learn how.  It also uses a quick curve ruler that I am excited to learn.

I will add a linky to this post later today when I get back to my loptop. I would love to see your lists.
