It is a new month and so far this year I am really getting things accomplished. March may not be so lucky as I have a lot on my goal list.
March One Monthly Goal is to piece this medallion quilt for my son. It was also my #8 in the Patchwork Times UFO drawing. It is also on my 18 in 2018 list. I would like to have the top done. It is pretty intense piecing with small pieces. I will have to do some paper piecing as well as make small sized log cabins. I have made this quilt a couple of times already and hopefully this will be the last. I designed it for my daughter #2's wedding and then daughter #1 wanted one for her wedding as well. I figure it is fitting that my son get one as well. He is not getting married yet, but procrastination makes me crazy so I must get going on it.
Daughter #2's Medallion (gray, blue, orange)
Daughter #1's medallion: (brown, mint, and orange)
This is how far I am currently on my son's.
I always have other goals and this month there are many. I think I can do them all, but I won't be surprised if I fall short a little.
I am also linking this post to TGIFF which stands for Thank Goodness its Finished Friday. Well, this list is not a completely finished list but it does celebrate some flimsy finishes. #2 is a flimsy I "finished" last month but then wasn't satisfied with it. I am picking off the side borders and making changes to improve it.
#4 is also a Flimsy finish from December and #6 is my middle school students' block finishes.
1. Medallion quilt listed above
2. Two more rows of houses on my sliced quilt...I just wasn't happy with the finish and want to add two more rows. I will be taking the borders off and redoing them with a little row of a village.
3. Finish, quilt, and bind my "Up on the Housetop" quilt
4. Quilt and bind this bright yellow/blue quilt
5. Keep up with my "Land of Liberty" QAL that I have renamed "Pieceful Country"
6. Assemble the barn blocks made by my middle school students
Well that should be plenty to keep me busy.
I did complete my goals for February except for putting a few quilting stitches in the bright flower quilt that is on the list for this month.

It's always good to have lots of goals... even if they don't all get achieved. After all, they wont get done at all if they are not on the list!
ReplyDeleteYou are ambitious to want to get all this done in one month! I hope you manage to make good progress on your son's quilt.
ReplyDeleteGo for it, Always have a dream to get more done. You have some beautiful quilts on the go.
ReplyDeleteThe set of barn blocks made by your students is one of the coolest things out there!
ReplyDeleteThose barns are so cute! You do have lots of goals this month. Here's wishing you well and hoping you find extra time to spend accomplishing them.
ReplyDeleteLots of great quilts. Hope that a few of them turn into finishes soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a list of goals, but if you're like me, that gives you direction when you enter the sewing room. The medallion quilt is amazing and I'm impressed you not only designed it yourself, but have made it two other times. Lucky kids!!! And the other projects are great, too...I'm particularly intrigued with the Santas and reindeer blocks...
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI really think your “up on the housetop” quilt is cute. Can you tell me where you found the pattern?
Thank you
