Mom's quilt is quilted!!

Mom got her quilt off the frames last week.  She said she broke or bent about 30 (yes T H I R T Y) needles.  She is so glad to be done because it was very hard to do.

To review progress, Ann's is ready to be quilted and waiting for the week after conference (and has been for several months).  I have two more blocks to applique before I can get a top done and then the corners will need to be completed.  Marie has two blocks done, most of the applique completed on the remaining two, but still needs to finish some paper piecing.  Hers is so tiny that the paper piecing is really a time consuming chore.  She will also need to put her top together and finish the corner applique.  I suspect Ann's will be done by the middle of April, and Marie and I will have tops ready to quilt by May or sooner.  My quilt being so much larger than Marie's may take longer to quilt but I think she has more applique pieces to quilt around.

Go here to see that Mom was a little further than I am right now clear back in October.  Man, did I ever put this project down for awhile.

  1. Congrats Lyn!! What an accomplishment. You quilted it really fast, especially considering how hard it was to quilt. You give me incentive to keep working on mine. I can't wait to see your finished quilt. Be sure you bring it to the retreat.

  2. Congrats Lynn!!!! Did any of us have any idea what we were getting into when we started this project?
Austin's quilt is tied (with the help of my daughters and granddaughters)and ready to bind. I hope to get that done this week. Then I will post it.
I also have all the centers appliqued on my Briar Rose quilt. Now have to put it all together, decide on a backing and get it finished.
