Upon arrival, Chris suggested we may wish to take a walk to stretch out our legs.
The corn actually visibly grew in those 5 days we were there. When we left there was definitely visibly more green in the field.
The long driveway is aligned with trees on both sides. I have always loved this perhaps because it would never happen at my house.
While we were there I asked my husband to build me a fountain and a sun room like hers. I love the sounds of the fountain. This is a very peaceful, private place.
My favorite feature was this historic barn!
I met and made new friends! Robin I had met before at an online visit a couple of years back. I have said it before and will say it over and over again, "quilters are the best people"! Janice, Robin, Rachael, and Chris.
Unbelievably I am actually taller than Robin.
Chris gave me some finished and unfinished quilt blocks! So fun!!! My husband says it is my Canada quilt because it is red and because that is where it originated. The story with this quilt began a few years back when Chris was cleaning out her stash and quilts. Several of her local friends came and helped haul off some things. These blocks were on the giveaway list and I told her I would love to have them. I never actually thought I would go to her house and come home with them!
The plan is to add embroidery to several of the blocks and decide how to put them together. Two of the applique' ones are just pinned; they need stitching.
Chris actually made two. Here is her rainbow colored one.
Here is a black and white photo of a finished quilt. It is by sentimental stitches.
This post is large enough that I will add another post tomorrow.
More to come!
