Headed to a little retreat!

I am on my way out the door to visit Mom and help her start a new quilt.  My friend will be going too and a sister-in-law may pop in as well.  I am EXCITED to get away for my spring break!

Here is a sneak peak at what I will help mom do.  She has dementia and finds it challenging to remember what pieces go where.  I plan to pin every thing for her in hopes she can enjoy it and not get frustrated. I spent yesterday cutting pieces out for her.

The quilt she wants to make is stunning!

Mom is making the Hasta quilt on the left, but she wants it queen sized, so I bought the larger kit for her to add the extra borders.

Her fabric...GORGEOUS!

I brought a few choices to work on for myself:  Windmill borders, Masterpiece blocks, Color my World blocks, and some hand appliqe'.

Masterpiece has been neglected lately.  I hope to make a few blocks at the retreat.

To Do Tuesday Report:

Last week's goals:

1.  Red and Pink hand applique' completed on Diamond Hill - NOPE

2. Finish four more houses in Color My World - NOPE

3. Add two more units to my border blocks in the Windmill Quilt - NOPE

4. Some quilting on Black Memory RR - NOPE

I spent most of my time last week trying to finish the hand applique' on my Diamond Hill.  I am so so close - one flower left.

This week's goals:

Let me repeat goals 2, 3, an 4 above and add 5 Masterpiece blocks to the list.

15 Minutes Report:

I am away from my computer and cannot calculate my exact YTD because I missed my first sewing day of the year this past week.

I am at 5/6 days for the week

100% in March

April is 2/3 days

  9. Your Mom's quilt is going to be one of those "WOW" quilts. Hope she enjoyed herself and made good progress. Speaking of WOW, Masterpiece has a lot of that too. Sorry you missed one day, but life happens. Hope this week has been good across the board.
