Last week had some great things going on!
1. I got my second Covid shot. I am so glad it is done, but I did get fevered for two days and had to miss some work. I still say it is better than getting the disease or worrying about giving it to someone else.
2. My son came home from college to visit. I have missed him.
3. I got to tend four of my little grands last Saturday It was wonderful! I was able to cuddle with each of them individually after their naps. I also get to tend my other two this coming Saturday.
Favorite quotes:
"Grandma, you came for a sleepover!" Three-year-old shouted this while running full blast at me as I entered his house.
"Frama, you came home!" Two year old said to me while racing her brother for a hug from me.
4. I joined a BOM by The Quilt Show called Color My World. I am anxious to go through my stash to select scraps and begin March's blocks, and I already have background fabric. I am two months behind but plan to do them in January and February of 2022. I absolutely love quilts with houses on them. This one is perfect for me!
I participated in The Quilt Show BOM many years ago on a quilt called Star Crazy. This is how it turned out. I used fabrics from my stash that had a "granny" feel to them, so I called mine "Granny Went Star Crazy." I could not find the quilted photo, but is done.
My Sister-in-Law Felicity and my cousin Anne made one with me. I ended up quilting Felicity's for her. You can see that mine looked pretty different from the others.
Thanks again Leeanna for the weekly party of positive thoughts!
Great quilts and love the house BOM! Your grandkids warm my heart!!! Have a safe and happy week!
ReplyDeleteI love that Stir Crazy Granny Design. I might have to figure out how to put it in Electric Quilt. =)
ReplyDeleteYay for having your second shot done and out of the way. I love how the same pattern can look so different depending on colors. The grandkids sound like fun!
ReplyDeleteHooray for vaccinations and grandchildren! Those star quilts are all stunning and the new Color My World BOM is fabulous. You're going to have so much fun with that one, and I can't wait to see it! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteIt’s so fun to see the differences in the same quilt. Love those houses too. Glad you had some good grandkid snuggles.
ReplyDeleteLove Colour My World...and all the pics are gorgeous...xox
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear of more and more people getting their vaccinations. They've only just started here in NZ, with some border staff and health workers. Sounds like a wonderful time with the littlies ♥ My 'quote of the week' came via my daughter..."I'm a little bit sad, Ganma misses me"!!!! I've been collecting TQS BOM too but trying so hard to not start anything new just now. Nice to see the star quilts and the different looks each person gets.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great BOM Colour my World is and you'll enjoy making it.
ReplyDeleteIt's always great to see different finishes of the some pattern..
Sounds like you had a wonderful week full of family. The SIT will be home this weekend, we've not seen her in a while. The new and old BOMs look like a lot of fun. Enjoy the new one.
