Hello and welcome to the Daughter's of Dorinda stop on the Color it Red Blog Hop. This fun little hop is hosted by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt!
This post just wouldn't be complete without seeing Marie's finish as well, besides, there is red in hers too!
TA DA...
If you have not made a New York Beauty quilt yet, I highly recommend it - red or not!
I have posted a few red projects this week, but my main feature is today. My A-#1 is my recently finished New York Beauty Top! My dear friend/cousin and I set off on a NYB year long journey in 2019 creating these fun little blocks! My goal was just one block per week, but they were addicting and Marie finished in record time. I rolled in with a finished top in early January - a year after I started.
Here are some photos:

I love your NYB. I once started one, but never finished it. Maybe now I should go on with that, at least. Thanks for showing your beautiful quilt.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Did you paper piece? You deserve to be thrilled at the completion of your year long project. Congrats to both you and Marie!
ReplyDeleteJust wow! Your New York Beauty quilt is stunning. Congrats on the finish.
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely gorgeous! |I like NYB's and even designed one with heart shapes.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is absolutely amazing!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, this is a gorgeous piece of art with so many intricate details. I love it! It is quite an accomplishment to finish something like this...wow! Thanks for sharing Marie's, too. Both of them are totally stunning. Thank you for sharing and hopping with us!
ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wow! Those quilts are amazing! Congratulations on finishing yours and congrats to Marie too!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely spectacular. Supremely gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteYou must be so proud of this finish. I have always been intimidated by intricate paper-piecing. But if the results are so astonishing, I am willing to try.
Wowziers...your making my heart swoon. This is absolutely stunning as well as your friends quilt. I love New York Beauty quilts! Oh...I guess that needs to go on my drawing board too soon! LOL!! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunner! I have never made a New York Beauty block, let alone a whole quilt but it has been on my bucket list for decades. After seeing your beauty I may finally be inspired enough to tackle one. Did you use any particular pattern?
ReplyDeleteYour red NY Beauty quilt is GORGEOUS !! Inspires me to want to make one. How many different reds, grays and black fabrics did you use ???
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. Marie's is gorgeous as well.
ReplyDeleteNew York Beauty is on my bucket list of quilts, but I’m a little intimidated. Hearing that it’s an addictive pattern helps move it forward on that list!
ReplyDeleteOh, interesting posts (I've been back reading) and lovely to see all your red projects! I hope your daughter and her babies do well. I love this quilt - it is beautiful!! I'm interested to know if you had a set colour/fabric plan or did you just sew - and then they 'just' worked out to go together so beautifully? Marie's is beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a stunner of a quilt!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is gorgeous! Congratulations finishing the top! Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite 'red' quilt for this fun hop!
ReplyDeleteYou and Marie did a spectacular job with your New York Beauty quilt tops. Congratulations to both of you!!
ReplyDeleteI love how you added dark outer sections to the corner blocks... it really adds to the overall design.
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to see the same amazing quilt pattern made in 2 different colourways!
ReplyDeleteLove your red/grey/black version!
