I love making these New York Beauty blocks, but they are very time consuming. This is the progress I made in January. I'm sure I will rearrange these blocks several times as I finish new ones.
I love seeing how yours turn out with the same patterns as mine. It helps guide me on my fabrics. I am noticing that I have used the background fabric in my outer rings more than you do, and the effect is noticeably different. I am pretty sure I will be trying to use other outer ring colors now for variety.
It is easier for yours to have variety with the multiple colors as well. I love it!
I was pretty shocked that you got so much done in January since you were off playing in faraway places. I might try to keep up with you, but I don't know if I can.
Thanks dq. I too love seeing the difference in our color schemes. I noticed the difference in our use of the background fabric and I decided that I need to use more background fabric in the blocks to give it more interest and to break up the color a bit. My favorite block is the one that has the background fabric in it. I'm afraid I will have too much variety in my blocks by the time I have them all complete.

ReplyDeleteThanks Needled Mom. I love NYB blocks too and have been wanting to make a NYB quilt for a very long time.
ReplyDeleteYour New York Blocks are so intricate, love the mix of jewel tones you've used.
