I have had an enjoyable time with family this week as well as quilting. In my adventures I visited with a cousin. Since I had just finished the binding on my mystery quilt and since hers was done as well, we decided to lay them side by side on the bed. It makes for a fun photo. I just love the gold in hers.
Here is the same quilt featured in front of my Mom's Horse Quilt. I like to roll them up to show that the bindings are complete.
Mom and I each made a horse quilt with the same pattern a few years back. I just LOVE them!
I was able to sew with family and finish up my flower blocks that will go in three different quilts. I really enjoyed making these!
Yep, that's me.
I photographed cousin M in her sewing room with a quilt on the wall I made for her a few years back. I had completely forgotten about this one as I had made one for Mom and Mom-in-law as well.
Cousin M was busy machine quilting her Dorinda Mystery quilt we did together several years ago. My top is not yet done and here she is quilting hers. Hers was called "Optical Illusions". It is so stunning!
I was also able to play with little Man this week. I sure wish he lived closer because I love him so much!
He loves dogs, and Boots doesn't mind.

What a great photo of your grandson with the dog. All those fun times sewing too.
ReplyDeleteLove all your beautiful quilts. What is the name or where did you get the pattern for the flower block? I would love to make my g’daughter a flower quilt. And your g’son on the dog is priceless! Please respond to rcoyle@olemiss.edu. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI especially like your flower quilt. I know aren't our grands just the best!!!! Happy summer to ya D.
ReplyDeleteThis is all so beautiful! Little boy included. 😄
ReplyDeleteWow! The two quilts on the bed are gorgeous! And I really like the flower quilt behind you. With the color choices, some blocks are almost like looking through an actual negative.
ReplyDeleteYour quilts are fabulous! I, also, would love to get the pattern for the flower blocks if you can point me/us in that direction!

I love that all the women in your family quilt, and not just simple quilts but more complicated patterns, too. I'm imagining that's a lot of fun, and have appreciated being included a couple of times. =)
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to compare two similar quilts side by side like that. Are there any women in your family who do not sew and, if there are, are they still allowed at family functions? :)
ReplyDeleteThe flower quilt is fabulous. I would be tempted to make that pattern.
Looks like a fun time was had by all, except maybe the dog.
