Another linky post...

15 Minutes Report:

To Do Tuesday Report

Last week:

Enjoy time with two of my grand sons for their birthday trip.  I have 5 of them, but the others already had their outing with grandma.  We camped without electricity which meant I was limited to hand work.  ✔

I took my hexies for the mystery.

The hexies are done!

After I returned home from the camp out, I got all but three of them glue basted and ready for applique'

One quarter of the quilt has all of the applique' turned under and glue basted to the background.  I love it!  This may possibly be the best mystery I ever joined!

This week's To Do List:
1. Hand applique' the rest of my flower stems I received from a block swap.
2. Applique' the quarter panel that is ready.
3. Piece one Celestial Star
4. Figure out how to finish Crazy Quilty ladies and where to put the scissor blocks.  These scissors are so small (4 1/2)  and took forever to make!  I also found several mistakes in the pattern which was a little not cool. I am very happy they are done!

5. Prep another quarter panel of my Laundry Basket Mystery Quilt.
6. Piece two exchange blocks
7. Finish cutting out the rest of my pineapple Tula Pink background.  It finally arrived in the mail.

I had car troubles this week. I think it is time to get a new one.  It was a year ago this week when my tire fell off going down the interstate.  This time it was just the alternator, but still.  Anyway, it kind of held me back from driving to visit a friend who lives too far away.

Happy 4th of July!

I hope your 4th of July is wonderful.  If you don't live in the states, perhaps it is a typical Tuesday for you.  For us it is a day to remember the signing of the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain.  I am thankful for those who fought for our freedoms.  This day is always super hot, to the extent that books, poems, and songs phrase "hotter than the 4th of July".  This is quite a contrast to our 2023 spring and June.  I guess summer is finally here.  We will start off our holiday by driving over the mountain to watch a parade my daughter's family will be in.  We will have lunch then buzz back home where I hope we will get the air conditioner finally hooked up.

The past few days I have been plugging along - checking off my goal list!

Some hexies were made for the Spring Mystery quilt.  I can honestly say that I am NOT yet hooked on EPP.

My Tula Pink Pineapple quilt is finally cut out - yay!  I purchased the fabric a year ago and am so excited to make it.  I will say, however, I was short some solids for my backgrounds and am awaiting  its UPS arrival before I can really say it is completely cut out.  I will say that everything is cut minus half of the background.

I enjoyed putting the cut pieces into the zipper pockets of the little projet bag I made last year.

I love my first pineapple block so much!!!

I made July's Stashbee block too.  It was super easy!

I went to Les Mis with a friend.  It was fabulous!  We also enjoyed a nice lunch and pedicure.

Lots of progress last week. Check it out.

Last week's progress:

1. Finish my last church block - ✅

2. Make two house blocks - ✅

3. Assemble Color My World -
It is finished and off to the quilter - yay!  I have made this quilt completely from scraps except for the background.  As for the background, it was just in my stash.  Here is proof that we can make lovely things from leftovers.

I started this quilt in March of 2021.  Wow, it is finally getting close to done!

The next photos show a close up of each corner.  They are all a little bit different.

4. Make Week 3 Spring Mystery BOM blocks -

5. Make Week 4 Spring Mystery BOM blocks -

This one was a struggle, not making it, but choosing the right fabrics for it.  I started off with this choice and hated it.

Next, I tried this combination.  It is ok but didn't really go with the other blocks as well as I would like.

Since they are already cut and partially sewn, I may end up finding a better background to suit them and put them on the back of a quilt or something.

They look nice on white.

Here are the four blocks all finished and neatly pressed.  I realize this quilt would have looked so nice on a white on white background like the dots above, but remember, this is a mystery and I am using up my stash.  This batik needed a home and was the right yardage.

6. Cut out Tula Pink Pineapple quilt kit - NO
7. Piece one Celestial Star - NO
8. Start planning how I want to arrange my Quilty Ladies and what other blocks I want to piece to go with it. -
The ideas are coming together.  It will be laid out similar to this only the blocks will be sewn into perfect squares.  I am also making little scissors to go with the stars somewhere.

Here is some extra fabric I have to play with as well:  pins and measuring tape.

9. Hand applique' the remaining Stashbee flower stems -

10. Piece my Dollar Building Block BOMs.   - STILL IN PROGRESS

I have 1/4 sewn together.  There are four different ones all stacked together.

11.  Exercise daily -
12.  Quit eating so many sweets -NOT PERFECT, BUT I DID BETTER

This week I hope to:

1. Make a Celestial Star
2. Make scissor blocks for Crazy Quilty Ladies
3. Finish the $ Building Blocks BOM for this month
4. Bind my Tulip Winnings Quilt.  It is just returned from the quilter and WOW, she did an amazing job on a very simple quilt.
5. Make Week 5 of the Spring Mystery BOM
6. Cut out Tula Pink's Pineapple Quilt
7. Hand applique' stems
8. Eat healthy
9. Exercise daily
