I just finished this quilt. Ann and Marie wanted to see it, so I am posting it here. Ir was so much fun! I did my border to look like wallpaper and carpet around the bookcase. It is a little hard to tell in the picture.

Dorine: Scrappy Quilt
After I posted the baby quilt, I remembered I had a quilt I finished last fall that didn't get posted. This one is made from random scraps. It was really fun to do. I cut 12 1/2 squares of batting, put a colorful piece of fabric in the middle, then stitched the random scraps on like a log cabin pattern. With the black strips between the blocks and around the borders, the colorful scraps really show up. What a fun way to use up all those scraps!

Dorine: Wiggles and Giggles for my next grandson
The last baby quilt I posted was almost two years ago for my grandson, Brycen. Now he is awaiting a baby brother. I made this "Wiggles and Giggles" quilt for the new baby who will be named Colby Howard. He is due in May, but we will be gone on our next mission before that, so I had to get it done early.

Ann: My latest quilts
I finished this quilt about a month ago. A friend made two blocks for me, and I created the rest of the quilt around those two blocks. Can you tell which ones she made?
I named it, "A Wonderful World." The top row is night time. The rest of the rows are summer, fall, winter, and spring. Each row has two trees, a house, and a landscape with a vehicle in it. You can't see the border in this shot, so I'm adding another shot that shows the border.
Earlier in the year I finished this quilt that I had been working on for some time. I bought the pattern for it 15 to 20 years ago and never had time to make it until now. It is called "Hawaiian Sunrise." I wanted it bigger than the pattern made it, so I just added more black. When I got it done, I thought it was too much black, so I made the throw pillow to go with it.

Lyn's is called Small Town Winter.

And her latest block...

Below are two parts of Stephanie's forest.

There are many others, but these are all Daughters of Dorinda who participated. It has been so much fun to meet new quilters and enjoy a project together.

Christmas Table Runner
I was going nuts waiting for the next mystery rule, so I got out a book I bought 15 years ago and never had time to use. I planned to start a beautiful quilt to pass the time. I bought the fabric, but then I started thinking about needing to get Christmas ready for my kids before we leave for Washington, DC. Instead of starting the quilt, I decided to make this lovely table runner which was in the book. This is the second one I have finished. Two more to go. I'm loving it.

State birds and flowers quilt: Dorine
This is the state birds and flowers quilt top that is one of the treasures Dena left in the basement. It was beautifully painted with fabric paints. No one in the family seems to know if Dena painted it or if her mother did, but I quilted it to give to the first of Gary's grandchildren that gets married.

Dorine's Dorinda Quilt
This is my Pine Tree Quilt that I made for Gina about eight years ago using Dorinda's pattern. I used paper piecing for the little triangles, and the quilt was pretty easy to make. It is pictured here on Gina's guest bed in their new home. It really made me feel at home when we stayed there before and after our family reunion.
Thanks DJ for inviting me to contribute to the blog! I'll add more quilts as I make them . I'm currently working on a Card Tricks Quilt. It's pretty fun.
