Deana: weekend progress = two finished churches

Wow!  This paper piecing project is taking W A Y  longer than I anticipated.  It is a good thing I got a start on it right at the first of the month.  It is my One Monthly Goal to get this top done.  Last week I thought there was no way I will make it.  This week I am thinking I can.

These paper pieced patterns are by "Quilt Art Designs".

Here are my churches with the houses I pieced earlier in the week.

I have two more houses really close to done that I hope to post in a day or two and then two more that are not started.

Let's take a look at my design walls.  I have two in my sewing room with a total of three projects on them.  On the left is my son's medallion quilt with only the middle done.  I want the top done by July when he comes home from his mission in Germany.

On the right is my sliced quilt challenge that goes with the houses I am paper piecing.  I think they are going to look good together.

Below is my Diamond Hill quilt awaiting the borders that need to be appliqued.  This quilt is on my list to finish this year as well.  You can see my other house and church on the side next to it.

MARIE: A Finish--My Medallion Quilt is finally complete. Thank you Deana for this wonderful pattern. I had a lot of fun making this quilt.

The back.  I used the fabric I had left over after the front was pieced. I kind of like it.

Quilting detail on the back

Now, on to my next project--quilting my Autumn Hues Quilt. I'm still trying to figure out how to quilt this one.  I think that I will do something more simple on this one. The Medallion quilt took a very long time!

Deana: Jolynn's Medallion is done!

Yay!  I was able to perform a miracle and get it quilted and bound.  I feel so relieved.  Now I need to pull off this wedding and I will feel free again.  It has all been a fun journey though.

I can't wait until next week at Thanksgiving because my family will be revealing our family round robin quilts.  We will also find out which one is ours.  I will be posting the photos as soon as I get back from the holiday.

Deana: February Finish!

I am so excited to say that Jessi's Medallion is FINISHED!  It is ready to give to Jessi, my daughter, for her wedding the end of May.  I quilted it more simple than I do most quilts because I thought it didn't need it.  The piecing speaks for itself.

I hope to get better photos tomorrow in better lighting.

The pattern can be found in my Craftsy shop.  It is split into two parts sold separately because the file was too large to keep together.
Part II

Jessi's Medallion was one of my 1st Quarter goals for the 2015 Finish Along.  Take this link back to that post for clarification.

I also finished the last row in the Quilter's Garden row mystery.  I am calling it, "Quilts in the Garden".  The pattern will release to the swap group members tomorrow and will become available for purchase to every one else after a few group members have tested the pattern for accuracy.  Watch for it around the middle of March.  The other row patterns in this quilt are available in my Craftsy shop.  The rows patterns are each sold separately and are numbered.

The lines have not been embroidered yet.

I still need to make two more sewing machines and join blocks together into rows.

Deana: Quilting right to the end of February

My goal is to have this baby done by the end of the month.  I have another day and I think I'll make it.  I hope to show finished pictures later tomorrow.  The large, open, black areas are all I have left.

The pattern for this quilt can be found in my Crafts shop.  The pattern file is so large that you have to purchase it in two parts, so watch for that.

Deana: ALYOF February 2015

I finished Jessi's Medallion in July and then had to set the top aside to finish other quilts.  My daughter, Jessi, just got engaged last week so now it is time to get it quilted and bound in time for the wedding in May.  My ALYOF goal for February is to finish it this month.

This project has been easy and fun, and Jessi loves it.

You can get the pattern in my Craftsy shop.  It takes two down loads and two purchases to get it because the file is too large for one.

MARIE: Finished piecing my Jessi's Medallion

I finished piecing Jessi's Medallion.  I have the binding pieced and ready to put on and am now working on piecing the back with the fabric I had left over.  This has been a very fun quilt to do.  It is an awesome pattern that was created by Deana.

Deana: final round on the horse completed!

I finally finished the paper piecing for the final round on the horse quilt and put it together!  Now it is time to turn this circle into a rectangle.

I was off sewing with my sisters and mother for a couple of days this week.  My sister, Tracy, completed her "Jessi's Medallion" top.  It is SO GORGEOUS!

You can get the pattern in my Etsy or my Craftsy shops.  At Craftsy you need to purchase it in two parts because the file was too large for one upload.

I would say it is an intermediate quilter's level.  It is mostly log cabin blocks with some paper piecing.  It looks much harder than it is.

Marie: Finished Month 4 of Jessi's Medallion

I finally finished Month 4. I am excited to get the next section done and it will finished.   I really love this quilt.   Thanks Deana for the wonderful pattern.   The quilt is too big for my design wall now so I had to take the picture on the grass so it doesn't look as smooth and nice as it does in real life.

If anyone is interested, the pattern can be found at this Etsy link.

Deana: Jessi's Medallion top done!

I have just finished Jessi's Medallion!  Hooray!!  This project has been easy and fun, and Jessi loves it.  It will be a couple of months before I get it quilted, but I am still happy to have it this far.  I will get the binding and the lining pieced today and put them away.  I always prep the bindings so I don't lose the fabric or use it for something else.

Next step...a horse quilt for my son.

Deana: Jessi's Medallion Month 3 complete.

I just barely completed month 3 of Jessi's Medallion.  Now it is time to get month 4 tested before it comes out in July.  I am pleased with how it is coming.

Deana makes progress on Jessi's Medallion

Linking up with Freshly Pieced.

I have been working hard to check the pattern for month 3 of Jessi's Medallion.  Below is a photo of the progress so far.  I just love what those four arrow points do to the total look of the quilt!

I also got a quilt top basted and about half quilted this week.  Below is a picture of it folded up and then the pieced back is below that picture.  This is a Buggy Barn star pattern.

I also got Jessi's Hexagon quilt on the frames so I can baste it.
