Quilting Friends Retreat - local quilters getting together is so bonding!

Just a week after returning from Aussieland and Scrub Stitchin' friends, I went to my local retreat.   It is only 20 minutes from home but I stayed over anyway.  There is nothing like a quilty sleep over with friends.

The theme was Quilting Friends which was so fitting considering I've known many of these ladies since I started quilting like 30 or so years ago.  Yes, that really dates me.

Look at this cute pattern holder they made us. It is cute without a pattern too. The big clip holds your pattern in place.  I am always looking for my pattern.

Phyllis and I traveled together and had a grand time.

Sherry sat with me and coached me along on the non quilty projects.  The retreat committee asked all of us to sew little dresses for African children which was a joy.  These dresses will go to children who live at a dump sight.

We were each asked to make 2 dresses, Sherry made 4.  I made this purple one and the striped one.

Look at all the work they went to making things for us!
I loved the little pouch which perfectly holds your phone,  keys, and money.  I am already using it on the go now that I am home.
I took a class from Robyn on EPP and she made us all this EPP keeper.

Look at the inside pockets that hold your glue, EPP papers, needles, and scissors.

Robyn actually took my class last year and finished the little quilt I taught.  Isn't she cute?

One lady told me about this cute little iron that she really likes.  I think I need one of them perhaps in a different color though.

Some of my Qulting Friends...  We sew down stairs and eat upstairs.  The food is all home cooked by some of the quilters and it is AMAZING!  I ate too much.

Some of these ladies I met last year at this retreat and some I've known for many years.

Mariella and I have been to many retreats together all over the state.

Laurie was there, and I had not seen her in many many years.  She blames me for her quilting addiction because she took her first quilt classes from me so many years ago.  It seems like a lifetime ago.  It was so great to catch up again.
