June Wrap-Up - it was a great month!

In June I surprised myself by getting an urge to put hanging sleeves on a few of my quilts.  I got a new quilt hanger that needs them.  The old one just pinched the quilt between two boards and was very difficult to do up high on the wall all by myself.  Because I didn't have very many quilts with sleeves, I didn't change my quilts as much as I would have liked last year.  During school, putting the sleeves on just seemed too time consuming.

These three are done - yay!  They include my Buggy Barn Bird House quilt (bottom), New York Beauty (middle), and my Barnyard (top).

These others are pinned and ready for me to sew.  I need to get them done because I am low on pins until they are removed.  There are 6 of them.

Goals really drive me, and I am happy to report that I really did well last month.  I completed 4 quilts last month and have another done already for July.  Out of the 10 Newfos I started in 2023, 9 are completely finished!  One WIP out of 4 are done.

I also like to take an "end of the month" look at every project I worked on.  The yellow in the list shows every one I worked on.  It is also fun to see my finishes being checked off.

I, like most of you, have several new projects I am excited to sink my teeth into.  I just don't want to get over 20 UFOs stacked up like I had a few years back.  Reining myself in takes some discipline for sure.  I have color coded them into groups to keep myself organized.  UFOs are ones I am not even working on at all.  My 2023 goal is to just make even the tiniest amount of progress on them.

We had a princess outing - myself and my two grand daughters.  It started off with a princess and pirates themed train ride.  They loved it!

The girls were delighted to meet Elsa, Merida, Moana, and Rapunzel.

We went out to eat, to the pool, and then home to grandma's house.

The next day we made princess crafts which included Bell's dress from a paper plate, mermaid dolls from pipe cleaner and floss, and princess snow globes.

On the way home we even went on a little princess hike.  It was the best!  These two little princesses loved playing in the creek and getting dirty.

We supported my daughter's first triathlong!  I think I want to do one - maybe next year.
