Christmas Sewing Retreat

Our local quilt ladies host a lovely retreat twice a year.  The spring one is three days and the fall one is only a one-day. Lucky for me, this past Thursday one-day gathering happened during my fall break from work which meant I didn't have to take a day off to attend.  Santa's Quilty Elves were busy for months to provide us with pre-cut kits for several different projects. The group of ladies who attend are so wonderful, and the food is to die for.

This year I came home with finished projects that will be used as Christmas gifts for neighbors and friends along with patterns and ideas to make more.

Look at this cute Santa and table topper hexagon star. The Santas fit nicely over the tops of water bottles and would neatly dress a festive Christmas table setting

Look at this darling home made bread carrier. They also baked each if us a delicious loaf of zuccini bread. It was so moist!

Here is a fun little table runner. I love how the trees are either red or green depending on which side of the table you view them from.

We also made a cookie mix bag. The ladies provided us with  a little spoon or spatula to tuck in the front pocket as well as a bag of chocolate chips and the cookie dough mix and recipe instructions on adding our own eggs and vanilla, etc...

We also made the origami folded bag shown on the right.

The one project I have yet to finish is this cute little folded tree pillow.

I only snapped one friend photo. The friends I make in the quilt world are the best!  This lady I met at church when I lived in a neighboring community years ago. We were only acquaintances then, but as quilters, we are so much more now.
