One Monthly Goal, WOOFA, and Patchwork Times Challenge #...

February is here and along with it is a new list of goals.

The Patchwork Times Challenge number for February is #2.  Mine is to quilt and bind my New York Beauty Quilt.  There will be no quick quilting motifs for this one.  I want to do a really nice job.  Wish me luck!  I will also make this my One Monthly Goal and WOOFA Challenge Goal.  I may as well kill three birds with one stone.

This quilt began in December of 2018.  The top was finished a year later which is much faster than I expected.  I made it with a good friend virtually, and hers is quilted.  Now I guess I need to get mine done.  I will be studying her quilting as I decide what to do with it.

In order to accomplish that goal, I must first baste Justin's Medallion because it is currently occupying my basting frames. That makes this goal #2 in February.  Part of it can be seen below.

#3.  I have been trying to piece 4 blocks a week on my masterpiece quilt.  My friend is making one a day, so there is no way I'll keep up with her.  We must set our own pace I suppose.

#4. I do plan to start a quilt this month.  The same friend who made NYB with me is starting my Windmill Quilt pattern this month.  I have the fabric set aside to make two of them, but will only make one for now.  I figure I may as well make it alongside her because sewing together is more fun.  I would love to get it completely cut out, strip sewing done, and a few blocks together by the end of February.

My daughter gave me the fabric for it a few years ago as a Christmas Gift.  It's gonna be delightful to make!

#5. Begin piecing Snow White.  I really don't expect to finish her because NYB quilting will take a lot of time in February.  I had hoped to get one princess done a month, but Snow White may have to wait.

#6. Lou, one of my Australian quilt friends is hosting a "Christmas Project a Month" challenge.  I didn't get mine done in January, but plan to in February.  I want to piece just one Christmas block - Santa or Mrs. Claus, I have not yet decided.

Well, my list is overkill, but I have discovered that setting high goals ends in high results even if they don't all get done.

Have a great February!

  4. New York Beauty is really stunning now and you haven't worked any magic on it. Good luck with your ambitious list. I've gone the opposite direction on my to do list, I limit what's on it in hopes I'll make more progress on a given project. I bet both strategies work. Good luck with your goals for the month.
