Update on Daughter and Babies...15 Min...To Do Tuesday!

A big thanks to all of you and your prayers!  I believe there is power in combined prayers.

What a week!  I am grateful it is over and with a happy ending!  My daughter found out on Wednesday that her babies have twin twin transfusion syndrome.  The doctors gave her babies a 5% chance of living without an emergency surgery.  We quickly flew her to California where a highly specialized and talented doctor performed fetal surgery inside the placenta to rewire the babies blood flow.  It was a success and mommy and unborn babies are back home.  She will not be able to lift anything 'til babies arrive including her 2 1/2 year old and her 16 month old.  Yes, she is going to be a busy mommy!

I was able to drive over the mountain and help her and her little ones for the weekend.  While I was there, both little ones became sick with the flu.  Fingers crossed that my daughter, her husband, and myself do not get it!

Somehow through all of that I managed to sew at least 15 minutes a day!  I think it was the only thing that kept me somewhat sane!  I took a bag of hand work with me for my travels.

To Do Tuesday:

Last week's goals were made with the plan of having a three day sew weekend at my daughter's house - NOT!
  • ✔Complete Country Barnyard top - done!
  • ✔A few sections of Sleeping Beauty - yes!

  • ✔4 rings in Feathered Goose - only one, but there was one
  • Sew reindeer - no
  • Cut trees for Christmas row quilt - no
  • Glue baste Diamond Hill - no
  • Glue baste Truck/Tree applique' - no
I did manage to do quite a bit of embroidery on my Gingerbread House!  All of the gingerbread brown is complete.  It will be fun to add some color now.

This week's goals:

  • Finish reindeer blocks
  • Glue baste some applique'
  • Prep my Christmas Tree row for applique'
  • A few Princess Aurora sections
  • A Feathered Goose Section
  • Some machine quilting on my truck quilt

I am also dedicating this week to the color red.  My day in the bloghop is not until Friday, so come back to check out my post!

My red quilt for the day is a barn quilt I made for my daughter's wedding a few years ago.  Yes, it is the same daughter with the growing family.

  1. Praise be to our Lord God almighty who is always willing to hear and answer our prayers. Thank you Lord for granting these requests and now I pray that You look after this family during the entire pregnancy and that these two precious babies will be delivered safely and healthy. Thank you Lord.

  2. Goodness! I will continue to pray for you, your daughter and your whole family. Gosh, I hope she doesn't get the flu. And those two sweet little ones - they are just so sick when they are sick. What a blessing you are! I always find your work to be inspiring and Aurora is really coming along nicely. But who cares about a list when something so much more important is going on?! {{Hugs}} Those 15 minutes a day really are a stress reliever and I'm glad you had the chance to sneak it in. Thank you for linking up and good luck with this week's list. ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. Oh my word -- no WONDER you didn't knock out all of your goals! It is amazing what modern medicine can do, but even more amazing is what God can do through modern medicine and the prayers of the faithful. So grateful to hear that your daughter and her twins are doing well. They are so fortunate that you're able to help with the other children. You are truly a blessing to your family!

  7. I am so happy that they were able to diagnose AND successfully treat your daughter and the babies. I will continue to keep up the prayers for everyone.

It had to be difficult to concentrate on any stitching between the worries and watching the other little ones.

  8. Very glad to hear that they were able to address the blood flow problem with the twins. It's so amazing what can be done now before they are even born. Wishing your daughter a speedy recovery. Congrats on finding some time to stitch even with all that was going on the last week. Hope this week has been calmer.
