Color it Red Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Daughter's of Dorinda stop on the Color it Red Blog Hop.  This fun little hop is hosted by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt!

I have posted a few red projects this week, but my main feature is today.  My A-#1 is my recently finished New York Beauty Top!  My dear friend/cousin  and I set off on a NYB year long journey in 2019 creating these fun little blocks!  My goal was just one block per week, but they were addicting and Marie finished in record time.  I rolled in with a finished top in early January - a year after I started.

Here are some photos:

This post just wouldn't be complete without seeing Marie's finish as well, besides, there is red in hers too!
TA DA...

If you have not made a New York Beauty quilt yet, I highly recommend it - red or not!

  1. I love your NYB. I once started one, but never finished it. Maybe now I should go on with that, at least. Thanks for showing your beautiful quilt.

You must be so proud of this finish. I have always been intimidated by intricate paper-piecing. But if the results are so astonishing, I am willing to try.

  13. Oh, interesting posts (I've been back reading) and lovely to see all your red projects! I hope your daughter and her babies do well. I love this quilt - it is beautiful!! I'm interested to know if you had a set colour/fabric plan or did you just sew - and then they 'just' worked out to go together so beautifully? Marie's is beautiful too.
