The past couple of days I have been sewing for the Rainbow Connection Group. My yellow strip is done, and red, purple, green, orange, and blue are making some progress. I am hopeful to finish soon and send them off to B to join their friends.
Day 4 of our trip:
We left Bateman’s Bay in the morning headed for Forbes. We saw our first kangaroos today. You Aussie's would have got quite a laugh watching us scramble for our cameras. SUPER EXCITING for us!
We stopped in Canberra for a look. The city was too big and too busy for us. We made some very funny memories at a totem pole (my description)at this place. The totem pole was rated "R"; hence, Ev is covering it up.
We also enjoyed seeing both the old and new Parliament buildings. I immediately recognized seeing the open space and flags on an episode of The Amazing Race.
I wish we would have gone to the war memorial and quilt shops, but we headed down the road.
Next stop was Cowra and the tower art.
Lori risked her life to get those close photos. A sign on the walkway warned us of snakes. Lori walked through the grasses to get the photos while we watched and prayed for her life. No way were we going over there!
I took these two photos of the scenery.

You sure had fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm certainly enjoying reading about your Aussie trip.
ReplyDeleteEnjoying catching up with your posts, I still get excited to see a kangaroo!! Love the water tower art, Raewyn and I saw that on our way home. The war memorial is great to see, but you can only fit so much in a day!
ReplyDeleteI have thorough enjoyed reading all your posts and love seeing the expressions on all of your faces in the photos.
ReplyDeleteCanberra is a tricky place to find your way around you did well. Hope you saw the gardens in Cowra
ReplyDeleteThe Rainbow Connection blocks looks great.
ReplyDeleteSo good your friends and you got in a lot of sightseeing. Shame time ran out and you didn't see the War Memorial.
Where we live on our 5 Acre Block we have a family of Kangaroos visit most days and drink from the bird bath ,also sleep under our trees.
Your Rainbow blocks are looking good. What a fun trip, the art on those tanks(?) is pretty amazing.
