My son is heavily involved in skijoring because his boss owns it. What is skijoring, you might ask? It is a winter sport where a skilled horse rider races down a track pulling either a skier or snowboarder in a timed race. The skier has to weave in and out of flags while collecting rings while the horseman grabs a ring as well. My son loves the sport.
My husband, daughter, son-in-law, and I volunteered to help at an event in Kamas, Utah. I walked up and down the course all day gathering rings and delivering them. My husband worked the starting line handing the rope to skiers once the horses were ready to run. My daught and son-in-law warmed up horses.
This year they had to make snow because Utah didn't get much.

ReplyDeleteI had not heard of this before. What an exhilarating sport! Would love to watch it someday.
ReplyDeleteAn amazing looking sport I've never heard of. What fun and I guess a real adrenalin rush. Thanks for posting about it Deana.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting sport! the skill needs to be on both the rider and the skier I presume. It looks like fun though
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting, I'd never heard of this sport. Looks like a fun day out for you all.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I've never heard of skijoring but it looks like an amazing experience. Our family have horses for mustering cattle and campdrafting ... they'd love this!
ReplyDeleteThat's a new sport to me. Looks like it takes a lot of skill on both ends of the rope.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of the sport but it does look challenging for both riders.
ReplyDeleteGrandson is a cutie.
