I like Thursday #12

 This week's likes were:

Watching my son train horses was a definite high this past week. In one day he trained one horse to lead as well as rode her.  I am telling you that it takes an experienced trainer to do that.  The horse was smart and willing to learn as well.  My son also rode four other horses that had never been ridden before.  They were all calm, and training happened without incidence or bucking.

The horses he was working with were rescued from the slaughter house.  They come from great breeding though.  The stallion they are out of was a million dollar race horse.

I also enjoyed helping my husband fix up our new to us trailer.  We have been painting and fixing.  We tore out the old oil stained carpet and put a fun finish on the floor.  It has a Denver Broncos look to it.

This will be a multipurpose trailer.  We use it to haul our race car, jeeps, motorcycles etc.  When we get to where we're going, we pull out the vehicle and use it for a camp trailer. We can set up a kitchen on one end and a bedroom on the other.  We can raise or lower the bed mattress to the height we want even and can even do bunk beds.

I had to take the cupboard doors inside to finish painting them because it got dark outside.

I have also been quilting away on Trail Mix.  It is nearly done!

I hope you can find something positive about this week in spite of the chaos with the election.

  4. Your son must be a natural with horses, so good to hear he saved them from a horrible situation. Your trailer sounds great, lots of uses. Like the floor.

  5. Isn’t it just the best to watch our children be successful? I’d be interested to see your “née to you” trailer when it’s completed! What’s not to like about a floor with a Denver Bronco vibe?😆 cool!

  6. I love horses! I am so allergic to them but I love the idea that these wonderful horses have been saved. Your son is a horse whisperer. I have no doubt that his calm aura can be felt by them and they respond in kind. God bless him! I sure would love to have witnessed that myself. Your trailer looks like a toy hauler! That new floor does have a Bronco hue to it and the doors look nice and bright - nice job! ~smile~ Roseanne

  8. I'd think watching horse training would be interesting. How neat that he gains their trust like that. Floor looks pretty cool, and the cabinets look so nice and clean with the new paint.

  9. Ooh, I’m looking forward to seeing your trailer when you finish decorating it. A fun look by the sounds of it. Your son is obviously a very calm and patient person to be trusted so quickly by the horses. My dad did some horse breaking in the 1950s on outback cattle stations. He also had a knack with animals.

  10. Your son sounds very talented! Love to see the photos of horses, such intelligent creatures. That sounds like quite a clever rig you have there for camping, etc. Love your quilting too.
