I Like Thursday #7 - Nails and Derbies

My "like picks" from this past week are Nails and Derbies!

I just returned from my nail appointment and came home with these adorable Halloween critters!  My nail lady absolutely loved the ideas I came in with today!  I am glad she enjoyed painting them.

I thought Frankenstein would be my fave, but that skeleton and mummy are super cute!

Saturday night some of us got together to support friends at a demolition derby.  Are any of you derby fans?  This is my son-in-law's car and my little grand.  The steering wheel nearly hit his face this time.  He got hit pretty hard at the end.

You tube video of the derby.  His car has a flag on the side.  SIL's heat starts at 7 minutes in!

Thanks Lee Anna at  Not Afraid of Color for the Thursday happy links!

  2. Wow, that car is a mess. It must have been some whack. How does he get to the next meet. Build a new car or rebuild this one. It must take some work.
I love how the skeleton comes together. Very cute...

  3. Those nails have me smiling - I like the mummy. I don't have nails long enough to do fun stuff like that. Wish I did, though! Looks like the derby was quite something!

  4. What fun nails! I love the mummy and Frankenstein reminds me of Herman Munster. Gosh, your grandson is so cute standing next to the derby car. I don't know much about derbies - but I mimic the question about how he gets his car ready for the next meet? ~smile~ Roseanne

  6. Amazing nails 😀 so the idea of the derby is you go out and smash the other cars and hope to be the last one moving? The drivers must get knocked around once their cars can't move and they still get crashed into. Same question here, does the car get knocked back into shape or a new one for each race?

  7. Love your nails. My daughter's nail artist does awesome things like that too. Wow that car....been years since I went to a derby. Here at the nearby track they do a bus figure 8 which is basically a destruction derby. Also at the county fair they do a combine destruction derby.

  9. Those are some fun nails! No salon for me....I’m reluctant to go! I don’t usually do fingernails ,but I do like to get my toes done!
There is a Demolition Derby car in our neighborhood. His has had quite a few hits this summer!

  14. Fun nails! I’ve never seen real a smash up derby, but as kids, our neighbours and us had our own version with our billy carts.
