Post by DJ: Jessi's Christmas Quilt

Jessi informed me a week before Christmas that she wanted a quilt, curtains, and pillow cases for her big gift this year.  I told her it wouldn't be possible for me to start and finish her quilt in time for Christmas.  This is how far I got.

It still needs the flower petals stitched down (I'm using a machine button hole stitch with invisible thread), flower centers, and swirlies...then ofcourse the quilting.

She went to the Home Machine Quilt Show with me and Mom last year and saw one very similar.  It was LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT for her.  I had to make it from a photo and I'll have to find the picture so I can give credit to the actual designer.  I made it to fit her queen sized bed.  It has been a fun project this Christmas season.  I told my husband that doing this for her gave me a gift too -- the gift of locking myself in my sewing room for several days uninterrupted.  He and I actually LOVED the quilt top with just the black and white blocks before the flowers.  I guess it is a teen-aged looking quilt now.

  1. How did you get this beautiful quilt done in such a short amount of time. You must have been sewing day and night. Anyway, it's gorgeous. A very fun pattern.
