What I did without attending the retreat.

I just wanted to show you what I did wrong on the first block. I sewed the corner triangles on wrong. Amazing the difference it makes to do it the correct way. Now the blocks lay flat.

We had a nice time in St George, but got rained out of Tuachan on Monday and about froze. We were less than a mile from where the 2 boys were struck by lightening at Snow Canyon HS. We had gone to Clover Patch, and stopped at Albertsons and that was here we were when the incident happened. Scary! Then the rain started again, in torrents.
I had run out of the background material for my quilt and hoped they would have some. They did not, but I picked up a stack of Halloween fat quarters and have got my witch quilt cut out.
I was able to find the material when I got home, and so was able to start putting the blocks together the end of the week.
Marian and the boys went to Odgen overnight so I had the morning to myself. I was able to get the top all pieced. I am very pleased with it. Now to get it quilted.
I also got my blocks done for Star Crazy. They worked up really fast.
Hope to get my witches done this week, and maybe start putting the stars and Irish chains together. We will see.

  1. I had no idea you had done so much on your pine tree quilt. It looks great. The block certainly does look better when you did it right. I love the colors in your Star Crazy quilt.

I'm glad you were safe and sound on your trip. It does sound scarey.

I am SO GLAD you were safe in St. G. That really sounds scary AND COLD!

Are you doing Buggy Barn witches? They are a blast.

I love seeing your projects. I'll post picts of retreat soon as blogger wouldn't let me earlier.

  3. Yes, Deana, it is the Buggy Barn witch quilt. The one called "If the Hat Fits." I have the legs and shoes all done. That takes a lot of time to turn them, they are so small.
