Pattern complete

This is what I worked up for our Dorinda pattern. We'll begin by paper piecing this little number.

Next, we'll paper piece the red curved unit and join the two together. We'll also attach the outer background fabric arc to the outside.

Next we'll join two of these units together with squares at the corners. The squares require y-seams, but it is only two y-seams per square. I've left a hole in the center to applique over. If you wanted to piece it I do have that template, but there will have to be a seam up the center and I don't like the look of it.

The photo below shows sort of how we will join four completed blocks together. We will then turn these blocks on point by adding large triangles to the outside edges (not pictured). This will give us the blank spaces for the applique flowers.

  1. These quilts are going to be absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait to get started on the blocks.
