I am thrilled to see that Marie and Ann have figured out how to post. I just wish I could post a photo. I've saved my photos into picasa and can't seem to get the post to accept them. I can link to them with no trouble, but I like the idea of putting a photo with a post so you can find an old post easier.

If posting a photo is new to you, click on the button next to the "ABC" to add an image. Maybe you can get it to work easier than I can.

I am so envious of your trip to Pine Valley!! Mom and I have got to schedule it soon.

Life has picked up a tad. I've got tomatoes and green chilis ready to can. Does anyone know the easiest way to skin green chilis. I roasted them in the oven, but they really don't peel with ease. It is a slower process than I have much patience for.

Both of my girls made the volleyball team and games began yesterday. I also signed Justin up for "tackle" football. Jessi starts dance after Labor Day. Am I ready? No, but life goes on. Jolynn will get her learner's permit in October then at least I could sew while she drives. I have only got one more year before she starts dating! Where does the time go?

I took a break from applique' this weekend and did a lot of scrapbooking. I added 50 pages to Justin's book. We were looking at albums last week and he noticed that his was further behind than the girls, so I got right on it. Over the last several years I have been involved in several page swaps where we design a two page layout and make several identical ones. You then swap them with other ladies in the swap. When I sit down to scrapbook all I really have to do is add the photos and do the journaling. It is pretty slick, but I still have a lot of photos left to get into books.

I want to get all of my non-digital photos into albums using the old scrapbooking methods and then I want to change to straight computer scrapbooking. I will design everything on the computer and then pay to have each page printed on photo paper and put into an album. I like to touch my pictures, not just see them on the computer. If you have seen anything neat out there that you would recommend, I'll take any suggestions.

Keep in touch! I love hearing about your lives!

  1. Taft (Shanna's husband) told me about a site: http://paint.net/ that is a great FREE photo workshop program. I think you download it onto your computer. I haven't used it yet, but it might be worth checking out.

Also, I don't know any better way to peel hot peppers than to roast them. It is very tedious, isn't it. I think the last time I did it I thought that it might not be worth the time, but then if you have the peppers--who can let them go to waste. Good luck.
